TRANSPORTATION
GETTING AROUND REDMOND
Access has a whole new meaning in Redmond and has never been more convenient. The city offers a variety of ways for people to get around including walking, biking, taking a bus, or driving your car (they’ve got you covered even if it’s electric!). Go Redmond provides incentives for people using alternative modes of transportation to get to work.
SCHOOL POOL PROGRAM
The School Pool program works with Redmond schools to provide education on traffic safety topics and events like Walk and Bike-to-School Days to encourage healthy choices.
LIGHT RAIL EXTENSION
Getting where you want to go doesn’t get much faster than this, the Sound Transit Light Rail is currently under construction in Southeast Redmond and Downtown neighborhoods. Extension of the light rail into Redmond will provide fast, frequent and reliable connections around town, Bellevue, Seattle and to the rest of the region.
“SECRET” PARK & RIDES AROUND PUGET SOUND
King County Metro works with private parking lot owners to lease space during the weekdays for commuters. These other locations are sprinkled throughout the Eastside and are a great alternative for many commuters.
BIKING
Redmond’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee helps enhance Redmond’s non-motorized transportation system to better enable people to safely and efficiently move about the community by foot and bicycle.
